 Latisse is the first FDA-approved prescription serum specifically designed to treat hypotrichosis (inadequate lashes) by encouraging them to grow longer, thicker, and darker. It uses the active ingredient bimatoprost to extend the natural growth phase of eyelash hairs 

• Timeline: Results become noticeable gradually. While you may start seeing changes in as little as 4 weeks, the full, clinically proven effects typically require 16 weeks of continuous daily use.
• Maintenance: If you stop using Latisse, your eyelashes will gradually return to their previous appearance.

• Prep: Ensure your face is clean, and remove all makeup and contact lenses. 
• Apply: Place one drop of the solution on the sterile applicator provided. Carefully draw it along the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the base of the eyelashes (where your lashes meet your skin). 
• Finish: Blot any excess solution to avoid it spreading outside the desired area.

• Who Should Avoid It: Individuals with active eye conditions like uveitis, conjunctivitis, or a history of macular edema should consult their ophthalmologist before using Latisse. 
• There is the potential for hair growth to occur in areas where LATISSE® solution comes in repeated contact with skin surfaces. Apply LATISSE® only to the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the base of the eyelashes. 

 Postmarketing Experience: The following adverse reactions have been identified during postapproval use of LATISSE®: 

• Dry skin of the eyelid and/or periocular area 
• Eye swelling, eyelid edema, hordeolum, hypersensitivity (local allergic reactions), lacrimation increased, madarosis and trichorrhexis (temporary loss of a few eyelashes to loss of sections of eyelashes, and temporary eyelash breakage, respectively)
• Periorbital and lid changes associated with a deepening of the eyelid sulcus
• Rash (including macular and erythematous)
• Skin discoloration (periorbital)
• Trichiasis
• Blurred vision 

Think routine: Try to incorporate LATISSE® into your daily routine—for example, after you’ve washed your face and brushed your teeth, put on your LATISSE®.

Keep it handy: Store the LATISSE® bottle near your skin care products or toothbrush so you won’t forget to apply it each night.

Chart your progress: When you start using LATISSE® solution, be sure to mark your calendar and take pictures throughout the weeks (0, 4, 8, 12, 16), so you can have your own before and after photos.
